Electrofilters, also known as electrostatic precipitators, are devices designed to remove solid pollutants from flue gases and exhaust gases. The main advantage is the high efficiency combined with resistance to high temperatures and combustion, which is an important characteristic, e.g. in biomass incineration.
The most common applications for electrofilters are:
- Flue gas dedusting in heating plants
- Flue gas dedusting in power plants
- Flue gas dedusting in waste incinerators
- Gas dedusting in cement works
- Other technologies where occures need to remove dust emissions

Efficiency of the equipment
Depending on the conditions, particulate matter leakages behind electrostatic precipitators are nowadays up to 10-15 μg/m3, in specific cases even better results can be achieved.
